St. John Full Baptist Church, Inc. was birthed in 1986 by Prophet Verdell through the guidance of the Holy Spirit to move to Macon, MS. In this move, Prophet was given the assignment from God to bring healing and deliverance to the body of Christ. At this time the Holy Spirit made His debut in Pastor’s teaching and many were drawn to the little white church located on Highway 14 East. They drove from miles and miles to experience the move of God in this area.

Many were saved, baptized, healed, delivered, filled with the Holy Ghost, and blessed by God’s Word. This charismatic movement defined who we were—a born again, “fire-baptized,” Bible-based, Christian Church.

In 1997, God transitioned us to our current location at 402 Third Street, where the glory of God continues to fill the house. As a result, many souls were added to the Kingdom of God. On July 1, 2002, St.John Full Gospel Baptist Church was legally incorporated with the State of Mississippi by Prophet Verdell and his daughter, Sh’meka. With the anointing upon Pastor’s life to teach the Word of God, the power of the five-fold ministry has manifested in St. John Full Gospel.

Today, the church exemplifies the fact that it is a healing and deliverance ministry. The broken are healed and the captive are set free. God has spoken and there are instructions from Him to build an $8M worship center, life center, and a number of other campus facilities on 40 acres or more of land that will further the work of the ministry, with the apostolic anointing of God upon Pastor Verdell.
